Kyoto City University of Arts Faculty Exhibition: The 1970’s
Kyoto City University of Arts Gallery @KCUA
This event has ended.
An exhibition of works by KCUA students and faculty from the past ten years, a period in which the university has experimented with educational reforms including a practical curriculum that became the precursor to the “Interdisciplinary Foundational Practicum.” Freshmen spend the first half of the year studying fields outside of their majors and specialties to give them exposure to various forms of artistic expression. In these new environments, they have produced works that turn away from individualistic consumption and the realization of an affluent society, such as seen in 1970s society.
